The European launch of the Exceed — Advanced Bearing Technology acetabular system went ahead in October 2006 in Rome at the Rome Hip Symposium.
The idea and innovation for the Exceed ABT system was that of Evert Smith’s and he also participated in its design and development. The acetabular cup system comprises of three bearing surfaces: metal, ceramic and polyethylene. The different bearing surfaces can provide optimum durability for high activity patients as well as more sedentary patients.
