International Hip Resurfacing Symposium

  • Metal ions – what do we know?
  • MoM large head technology

As part of the Resurfacing Arthroplasty faculty I delivered 2 presentations and chaired a session on optimal implant placement.

The meeting identified the controversial clinical issues relating to metal on metal articulation. The tissue responses, including ALVAL and pseudotumours, were also hotly debated.

The meeting was a thoroughly enjoyable and academic event.
