Data Protection Statement

This Statement is intended to explain our practices used for processing personal data, as defined under the General Data Protection Act (GDPR) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

This practice handles medical records in-line with laws on data protection and confidentiality.

We only share medical records with those who are involved in providing you with care and treatment.

In some circumstances, we will also share medical records for medical research, for example to find out more about why people get ill.

We share information when the law requires us to do so, for example, to prevent infectious diseases from spreading or to check the care being provided to you is safe.

You have the right to be given a copy of your medical record.

You have the right to object to your medical records being shared with those who provide you with care.

You have the right to object to your information being used for medical research and to plan health services.

You have the right to have any mistakes corrected and to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

We know where our data is. It is held securely. It is never shared externally with any other service or organisation. This is categorical!

We protect it to the best of our ability. Staff are trained in respect to secure storage and usage of our data, to the highest practical standards. Like any computer based system anywhere, it would be disingenuous to claim 100% security - but we are confident that the effort required by an unauthorised person to get their hands on the data we hold would simply be far more than the value of anything we hold.

We do not hold any financial data about people. We don't hold anything about your credit / debit cards or any such financial knowledge.

If you would like to contact us to discuss anything about the way we have dealt with any details we might hold about you, including your rights for a copy of any information we hold and / or destruction of any non-essential information we might hold about you, you can contact us during UK office hours, by phone on +44 117 980 4027 or by emailing suemisir@hotmail.som.
